Privacy policy: the mvmt app

The mvmt app ("Get mvmt" on app stores) is provided by Get mvmt LLC (commercial registration 7054338228, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) as part of your employer's Human Performance Architecture (HPA) programme. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and your choices. Taking part is voluntary.
Who is responsible for your data. Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), your employer is the controller of your personal data in this programme: it decides why it is processed. Get mvmt processes it on your employer's behalf, only for the programme and only on its documented instructions.
What we collect
From your account
- Your first and family name, your work email (or the email you joined with), your company and your department.
- How your name shows to colleagues (full name or initials), and the hobbies you choose to share, if any.
From your phone's health app (only with your permission)
- Your total steps for each day.
- Your total sleep time for each night, as one number. We don't collect sleep stages, bedtimes or wake times.
- Manually typed entries are left out on your phone; only automatically recorded totals are sent.
What you enter in the app
- Your answers to the optional morning check-in and your "life modes" (for example new parent or shift work).
- Your HPA survey answers, if you take the survey in the app (see "HPA survey" below).
To run the app
- A notification address for your phone (so we can send you app notifications) and the language of your phone.
- Your app version and phone type (iPhone or Android), to keep step syncing working.
What stays on your phone only (we never receive it): your hour-by-hour steps, My Garden and your water log, and your use of the toolkit (breathing, focus, sunlight and walk timers).
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or medical records, and we don't use advertising or analytics services.
Why we use it
- To show you your own steps, sleep, daily goal, Moves, badges and progress.
- To run team and company challenges and leaderboards.
- To give your employer group figures that help shape the wellbeing programme.
- To send you sign-in codes and app notifications.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Get mvmt may use fully anonymous, combined figures (which cannot identify you or your employer) to improve its methods and for internal benchmarking.

HPA survey
If your employer runs the HPA survey through the app, your answers are stored in the same way as answers given on the survey website: encrypted, and used for your employer's HPA assessment. Your personal HPA report is sent to you by email; your employer receives results for groups only.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored in Saudi Arabia (Dammam). Each company's data is kept separate, it is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to the people who run the service.
A few services help deliver the app. Some of their servers may be outside Saudi Arabia; they keep no lasting copy of your data, and you agree to their use when you start using the app:
- Email delivery (a specialised email platform): sends your sign-in codes. It receives your email address and the code only.
- Notification delivery (Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging; Apple Push Notification service on iPhone): delivers app notifications to your phone. They receive your phone's notification address and the message text, never your health data.
- Your phone's health app (Google Health Connect or Apple Health) is where the app reads your steps and sleep, on your phone, with your permission.
How long we keep it
- Check-in answers: deleted after 35 days.
- Step and sleep totals: kept for the length of your employer's programme.
- When your employer's programme ends, your data is returned to your employer or securely deleted, as your employer instructs, within 20 days.
- Backups are kept for up to 7 days and then overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Permissions: you can turn off step or sleep access at any time in your phone's settings or Health Connect.
- Leaderboard and hobby groups: join or leave at any time in the app.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings → Delete my account. Straight away we remove your name, email, department, sleep, check-ins, badges, hobbies and notification addresses, and you are signed out. Your past daily step totals and Moves stay only as numbers without your name, so the team results colleagues have seen don't change. HPA survey answers you already sent stay in your employer's HPA assessment; ask us if you want them removed.
- Without the app: email privacy@getmvmt.com from your work email, or ask your employer, and we will delete your account. We reply within 30 days.
- Under the PDPL you also have the right to be informed, to see your data and receive a copy in a readable format, to have it corrected or destroyed, to withdraw your consent, and to complain. Write to the same address or to your employer's data protection contact.
Not a medical service
mvmt supports everyday movement and rest. It doesn't diagnose, treat or give medical advice. For health concerns, speak with a healthcare professional.
Children
The app is for employees of companies in the programme. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We will tell you in the app before any important change to this policy takes effect.
